Cut holes in walls to
insure that the fire is out
Break windows and cut holes in the roof (called ventilation)
to slow the damaging outward movement of the fire, remove
smoke that obscures the actual fire to enable the firefighters
more efficiency in fighting the fire.
Make certain your home is safe to re-enter and clearly
designate unsafe areas
Disconnect utilities before leaving, as appropriate.
DO NOT attempt to do this yourself
Notify the Police Department that your property has
been compromised and is unoccupied
